Greater Sea Spurrey

The Greater Sea Spurrey is a straggling five-petalled flower of salt-marshes, estuaries and beaches, occasionally also found alongside roads which are salted in winter. The leaves are linear and fleshy, and the petals are pale pink at the edges and white in the centre. Flowering period is June to September, height up to about 6 inches. Similar to the Lesser Sand Spurrey, but more upright, the petals are usually longer than the sepals and paler pink in colour.
