How Many Beaches are there in Wales?
That's a question that is often asked, but can't be answered without a clear definition of what constitutes a Beach. The beaches listed here include the numerous small coves of Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula, as well as those within MoD sites.
For the purposes of this site, I have included all beaches which have a name, provided they're not so small, rocky or muddy as to have little interest. The total of 511 includes Somerset and Cheshire, so the best estimate of the total number of beaches in Wales is about 475.
