Traeth Crugan

Traeth Crugan

Traeth Crugan is a quiet beach situated between Llanbedrog and Pwllheli. At the western end is the headland of Carreg y Defaid, whilst eastwards the beach continues all the way to Pwllheli. The beach is mostly coarse sand and small shingle backed by boulder clay banks with agricultural land behind. A short (no-through) lane off the A499 east of Llanbedrog is wide enough for parking and leads to the coastal path. Access to the shore is thence down a short, steep concrete path. It's quite a popular beach with local dog owners, and is generally good for swimming at high tide. Alternative access is from Pwllheli or Llanbedrog (1 mile).
