Patch Beach

Patch Beach

Patch Beach is situated on the Teifi estuary alongside the Gwbert road (B4548), just over a mile north of Cardigan and opposite the western end of Poppit Sands. There is roadside parking here and a short narrow track leads to a slipway onto the shore, which is soft sand backed by some shingle. Cars often park on this shingle, although officially parking is not allowed on Ceredigion beaches. Behind the beach are caravan parks and a boatyard. Just around the point to the west are better sandier areas. The estuary has fast currents so swimming is not advisable.
