The beach at Hoylake is a long and sandy, and backed by a sea wall and promenade, with plenty of (free) roadside parking available. Access to the shore is down a slipway and dogs are allowed at all times. About a mile further east is Meols Beach (bottom photo), which has a margin of sand at the top and plenty of wet sand and patches of mud lower down. Meols Parade runs along the seafront, and has plenty of space for roadside parking. Toilets ♿ are located at the eastern end of Meols Parade (junction with Bennett's Lane). The rail stations Hoylake, Manor Road and Meols are all about ½ mile away from the coast.
