Traeth Cymyran

Traeth Cymyran

Traeth Cymyran is a long sandy beach backed by dunes, behind which is the RAF Valley airfield. It's not a place for peace and quiet, as there is considerable aircraft activity. Swimming can be dangerous at the western end of the beach. Parking is available on sand just behind the dunes, at Grid Ref: SH297755. This can be reached by taking Cymyran Road from the A5 in the village of Caergeiliog, which ends at a small parking area at one of the gates to the airfield. From here, a track (which is also the coastal path) continues about ½ mile to the beach parking area. The beach is contiguous with Traeth Crigyll, being in effect one long sandy beach and alternative access is from Rhosneigr. Dogs are allowed at all times.
