Porthmynawyd (pronounced 'Porth-min-ar-wid') is a small cove west of Newgale Sands. Access is by public footpath from Pointz Castle farm. layby parking is available on the A487 either side of the Pointz Castle turning, but it is usually possible to find a space by driving through the farm and parking just before the sharp bend.
The footpath leads from here through two fields and along a deep valley to the beach. Keep to the right through the first field and to the left in the second.
The beach is sand backed by high cliffs, with the headland of Dinas Fach on the west side and a cave on the east side which can be explored at low tide. Much of the beach is covered between mid and high tide, but this is a good beach for swimming.
