Jackson's Bay

Jackson's Bay

Jackson's Bay is a small sheltered beach situated to the east of Whitmore Bay (Barry Island). It can be reached by a footpath around Nell's Point or alternatively down a tarmac footpath from Redbrink Crescent. It is mostly sand backed by low cliffs of sandstone and mudstone, with a stone breakwater on the eastern side. Barry Island rail station is about ½ mile away and there are (seasonal) toilets here. Dogs are allowed at all times. Swimming is generally safe at high tide within the bay, but there are strong currents around Nell's Point.
