Porlock Weir

Porlock Weir

Porlock Weir is a picturesque port situated about 1¼ miles west of Porlock on the western side of Porlock Bay. The beach, which is popular with anglers, consists almost entirely of stones and rocks and looks out towards Hurlstone Point at the opposite end of the bay. There is a small harbour and a P&D parking area with picnic tables affording good views. Other facilities include toilets ♿, a few small shops, a 15th century pub (The Ship Inn) and cafes with outdoor seating. The rocky shore continues to the west of the harbour.

The beach can get some decent surf in winter before the high tide, but needs a good swell and offshore wind. It's likely to be crowded on a good day, but rocks can be a hazard.
