St Brides Wentlooge

St Brides Wentlooge

The county of Monmouthshire is not renowned for its beaches, and these two patches of sand and stones at St Brides Wentlooge are as good as it gets. Bordering the Severn estuary, they're backed by a sea defence wall, and the lower shore is thick, gloopy mud. A P&D car park can be found at the Lighthouse Inn - reached by turning off the B4239 east of the village onto a lane signposted 'St Brides Village Hall'. The sandy bits are about 1000 and 1500 yards west along the coastal path.
