Aber-west

Aber-west

The small cove of Aberwest lies just below the headland of Dinas Fawr on the north side of St Brides Bay. It has a shore of low-tide sand backed by a very steep bank of rocks and thorny scrub. Some other sites (who've obviously never been here and make little effort to get their facts right) claim that this beach is accessible from the coastal path, but unless you want to carefully pick your way down the very steep bank (see photo), it isn't. If you're looking for a (low-tide) beach to yourself and have a rope to help you get down to it, it may be a good choice.
