Pobbles Bay lies to the east of the distinctive headland of Three Cliffs Bay, and is a sandy beach backed by limestone cliffs and sand dunes. At low tide it's possible to walk along the shore to Three Cliffs, Tor Bay and Oxwich Bay. Access is via the coastal path from Southgate (about ¾mile away) - a mostly level walk followed by a steep sandy descent. There are no facilities nearby, but Southgate has a NT car park (attended / P&D) on the clifftop, a coffee shop and toilets. Alternatively, a public footpath begins at Pennard Golf Club and leads down to Pobbles Bay, but parking nearby is difficult.
Dogs are allowed at all times. Swimming is generally safe with two main exceptions : in the vicinity of the Pennard Pill on an ebbing tide and also in surf conditions.
